Gerber Announces New Facebook Search to Find Its Next Advertising Star
(FLORHAM PARK, NJ) – July 16, 2012 – Gerber Products Company, part of the Nestlé family, announced today the launch of the Gerber Generation Photo Search III on its Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Gerber. Starting today, parents of children up to 48 months of age are encouraged to upload their favorite photo of their children for a chance to win the search grand prize– a $50,000 cash prize and the opportunity to star in an upcoming advertisement for Gerber. Photo entries are being accepted through Aug. 26.

We’re excited to bring back the Gerber Generation Photo Search as we know our Facebook fans have been eagerly awaiting the chance to enter their children,” said Cathy Abramski, Head of Consumer Communications & Business Planning, Nestlé Infant Nutrition. “At Gerber, we’re committed to nourishing a healthy generation of babies and toddlers and through Photo Search, we get to see thousands of these smiling faces. Last year’s search drew more than 156,000 adorable entries across all the Gerber Generation and we can’t wait to see who this year’s Grand Prize winner will be!”

This is the third annual Gerber Generation Photo Search. Last year, more than 156,000 entries were received and Tate Rosendahl of Springfield, Mo. was selected as the winner. Tate received a $50,000 cash prize and traveled with his family to New York to shoot his ad.  

HOW TO ENTER YOUR CHILD
Parents can visit the Gerber Facebook page and enter their child into the photo search by uploading a picture under the appropriate Start Healthy, Stay Healthy™ Milestone during the entry period. At the end of the entry period, a panel of Gerber Generation judges will set out to find photos of children from birth to preschool age that demonstrate visual appeal, expressiveness and consistency with Gerber's heritage and its Start Healthy, Stay HealthyTM mission. The child’s photo that best meets these criteria will be selected as the Grand Prize winner.

In addition to the Grand Prize winner, six Milestone winners will be selected from each Start Healthy, Stay Healthy™ Milestone category – Birth+, Supported Sitter, Sitter, Crawler, Toddler and Preschooler. The Milestone winners will each win a $10,000 Gerber Life College Plan ($10,000 value at 10 year maturity. Available for U.S. residents 18-75. Subject to Plan terms and conditions.
