Florham Park, NJ (August 4, 2016) – In celebration of its Nestlé’s 150th anniversary, about 200 employees of Gerber Products Company are engaging in a variety of community service events across Morris, Essex and Union County. Across the country, #Nestlé150for150 will unite more than 6,000 employees from eight different Nestlé operating companies for a day dedicated to 150 volunteer events nationwide.

Employees will partner with a variety of organizations across Morris, Essex and Union County including  the March of Dimes, Boys and Girls Club of Union County, Cornerstone Family Services of Morristown, and Youth Consultation Services.  Service activities will focus on health and wellness engagement activities including nutrition education and also provide opportunities to support senior citizen outreach and community beautification.

As Nestlé celebrates its 150th anniversary, it continues to make strides to become the world’s leading nutrition, health and wellness company and to create a more sustainable future for its employees and consumers. #Nestlé150for150 will build on Nestlé’s national three-year partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and the partnership’s National Fitness Challenge, which works with Clubs around the country to inspire local kids to achieve tangible and short-term fitness goals. #Nestlé150for150 also connects to Nestlé’s global initiative called “United For Healthier Kids,” which works with hundreds of partners worldwide - including governments, NGOs, health institutes, and sports federations - to raise nutrition and health knowledge and promote physical activity among school-age children around the world.

Nestlé’s 150th anniversary represents a significant milestone on our journey, a journey we look forward to continuing as we create value for our shareholders and  for society. “Creating shared value in the communities where we live and work has always been at the heart of Nestlé’s journey, and there’s no better way to celebrate our 150th anniversary than by working to create healthy communities and truly exemplify our parent company motto of ‘Good Food, Good Life,’” said Gerber President & CEO, Bill Partyka. “Nestlé employees work together every day to fulfill our promise of becoming a leader in nutrition, health and wellness, and today we bring that same spirit into our backyard of New Jersey.”

As the world’s largest food and beverage company, Nestlé recognizes its responsibility to improve more than just the way we eat. #Nestlé150for150 was inspired by the company’s dedication to go well beyond the product that is on store shelves. The initiative will bring together employees from Nestlé’s U.S. operating companies, including: Nestlé USA, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, Nestlé Waters North America, Nestlé Nutrition, Nestlé Professional, Nespresso, Nestlé Skin Health and Nestlé Health Science to create healthy kids, families, pets, and communities.
