Gerber Announces Online Photo Search and Official Facebook Page

(FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey) – June 1, 2010 – Calling all future stars!  The babies and tots who represent the Gerber Generation have been busy advocating for a healthier future on television and in magazine ads.  Now, every child from birth through preschool has a chance to join the Gerber Generation movement.  Gerber announces an online photo search for its next Gerber Generation advertising star – complete with bragging rights for Mom and Dad!

Is your baby just the cutest thing?  Gerber wants you to share your child’s picture-perfect pose for a chance to win big in the Gerber Generation photo search!  From now until November 30, 2010, parents can visit www.Gerber.com or follow the link from the Gerber Facebook page to upload a picture of their child under the appropriate Start Healthy, Stay Healthy™ Milestone Symbol™.  Once approved, the picture will be posted to the Gerber Generation gallery.

Gerber Generation judges are looking for photos of children from birth to preschool that demonstrate expression, charm and uniqueness – everything your baby has!  The child whose photo best meets these criteria will receive the grand prize of starring in a Gerber advertisement plus a $25,000 scholarship.  Monthly prizes will also be awarded to photos with the most votes.  Voting is open to the public beginning July 3, 2010 on www.Gerber.com.  

Throughout the duration of the contest, six prizes will be awarded every month to the photo with the most votes in each Milestone Symbol™ category.  Each monthly prize consists of:
  • A Flip Slide HD™ video camera*
  • The child’s photo featured on the Gerber Winners Page on  www.Gerber.com
A child’s photo becomes eligible for voting the month following its appearance within the Gerber Generation gallery.  For example, photos appearing in June can be voted for starting July 3, 2010.  Gerber will send a reminder email to participants to distribute to family and friends once the month’s voting period begins.  The contest runs now through November 30, 2010.  Voting is open until December 31, 2010.  The grand prize winner will be announced on or around January 10, 2011.

Parents can enter a different photo every month, so make room on your memory card and get ready to start taking some pictures!

Moms and moms-to-be – join in on the fun and conversations surrounding Gerber’s mission to nourish a healthier generation, one baby at a time.  The Gerber Facebook page is now “live”!  The page will post a mix of childhood nutrition facts and statistics generated from Gerber’s extensive research and consumer studies, feeding tips and guidance from nutrition and feeding experts, product news, special offers and, of course, the darling faces that are entered into the Gerber Generation photo search.
