Back By Popular Demand, Gerber® Launches its Most Exciting Photo Search To-Date
(FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey) – May 16, 2011 – Strike a pose, little ones!  Today, Gerber is announcing the launch of the 2011 Gerber Generation Photo Search.  Starting on May 16, 2011 through June 30, 2011, parents can “Like” the Gerber Facebook page,, and upload their favorite photo of their child for a chance to win one of six APPLE IPAD2* devices or the Grand Prize of a $50,000 scholarship and a chance to star in a Gerber Generation print ad!
“After receiving more than 217,000 entrants in last year’s Photo Search, we at Gerber, along with our Facebook fans, still can’t get enough of the adorable faces that make up the Gerber Generation,” says Christina Lawrence, Vice President, Integrated Marketing and Communications, Gerber Products Company.  “Our 2010 winner, Mercy Townsend, proved to be quite the star and can be seen in Gerber ads within several national parenting magazines this month.” 
The Photo Search is open to all fans of the Gerber Facebook page.  By clicking on the Photo Search link at, fans can upload a picture of their child under the appropriate Start Healthy, Stay Healthy™ MilestoneParents can enter one child per Start Healthy, Stay Healthy Milestone, and one picture per child.  Once approved, the picture will be posted to the Gerber Generation photo gallery.
A panel of Gerber Generation judges are looking for photos of children from birth to preschool that demonstrate visual appeal, expressiveness and consistency with Gerber’s heritage.  The child’s photo that best meets these criteria will be selected as the Grand Prize winner.
“We look forward to selecting our 2011 Gerber Generation Photo Search winner who will help us continue to communicate our commitment to early childhood nutrition through our Gerber Generation print advertising campaign,” says Lawrence.
In addition to the Grand Prize winner, Gerber Facebook fans will have the chance to view all photo entries and vote for six Milestone winners!  The entrant who receives the most votes under each Start Healthy, Stay Healthy Milestone – Birth+, Supported Sitter, Sitter, Crawler, Toddler, Preschooler – will win  an Apple IPAD2* and have their photo featured on and the Gerber Facebook page.  Voting for the Milestone winners begins July 5 and runs through July 31, 2011. 
The Grand Prize winner and six Milestone winners will be announced in August 2011.
